ENGINEERING GRADE MATERIAL
Nylon is an incredible 3D printing material thanks to its inter-layer adhesion and low friction. Nylon is a rigid filament, but under load does flex slightly to stop the part from shattering like weaker materials. These properties make nylon the right choice for functional parts that go from the printer direct to application. MatterHackers offers many different nylons for 3D printing from PRO Series to NylonX and now NylonG. No matter what you are making with nylon – we’ve got you covered.
GLASS FIBER REINFORCEMENT
NylonG features glass fiber reinforcement which reduces the amount of flex in the base nylon. This means that printed parts under stress will hold their shape better, retaining dimensional accuracy. The glass fiber specifically adds much more impact resistance to printed parts, making this filament great for parts that take a beating. Popular in aerospace development and testing, glass fiber reinforced materials can absorb large amounts of energy while maintaining shape and structural integrity.
WHICH NYLON IS RIGHT FOR ME?
Filament Benefit Optimal Use
PRO Series Nylon Strong, low friction General Purpose 3D Printing
NylonG Impact Resistance Parts subjected to repeated shock
NylonX Tensile Strength Parts under constant stress
NylonK Abrasion Resistance Parts subjected to constant friction
ENGINEERING GRADE MATERIAL, ALSO AVAILABLE IN MULTIPLE COLORS!
As nylon and glass fiber both have a translucent natural color, we are able to provide NylonG in a variety of colors. Currently we have white, black, silver, red, blue, orange, desert tan, and olive green. Bring some color to your next engineering project with these colors of NylonG.
