About Pulse XE – Print Advanced Materials Now
From the start, MatterHackers has been committed to reaching for better design standards in creating a robust and adaptable 3D printer that would work for all our users. Thus was born the Pulse—a strong, customizable, and easy-to-use FDM machine; but we didn’t stop there. Going on our 5th research and design evolution (and counting), MatterHackers has created an amazing 3D printer in the Pulse XE Advanced Materials 3D Printer. Feedback from the 3D printing community pushed us to create a system that not only prints standard filaments with laser accuracy, but also stands up to the rigors of printing with specialty filaments while still giving you fantastic finished results. From NylonX, to TPU, ABS, PETG, PLA, our very own MH Build and PRO Series, and everything in between, Pulse XE can print it all.
Pulse XE 3D Printer
The Pulse XE, with its amazing line-up of included upgrades, is a fantastic option for those who plan on printing with nylon, NylonX, and other advanced engineering-grade filaments. With the Pulse XE, you can print a plethora of materials such as PLA, PETG, Bronzefill, Copperfill, Brassfill, Bamboofill, Woodfill, Carbon Fiber, Stainless Steel, and many more. The machine design is based on the popular Prusa i3, the community’s most popular design, known for its sturdy build and reliable printing. Every Pulse XE comes standard with several powerful upgrades that run on 24V so your 3D printer never misses a beat during the software’s complex operation. Pulse XE components are precision machined, and each portion of the experience finely honed so you can smoothly and easily achieve the best 3D printing results possible.
Built Robust to Print Robust
The Pulse XE is built with robust components so it can print robust components. This high-performance, low-maintenance 3D printer has been designed and tested to deliver consistent, high-quality results without any fuss. The 24V power supply that attaches to the aluminum frames adds even more stability to the machine for consistently beautiful and accurate printed parts. Comprised of an E3D V6 HotEnd and a hardened steel nozzle on the stock machine, the Pulse XE’s hotend setup is more than capable of heating up and extruding abrasive filament like NylonX—the perfect material for projects that need to be durable and have high tensile strength. No question about it; the Pulse XE is made to print NylonX.
Functional and Sturdy Parts
Use the Pulse XE to produce strong printed parts out of NylonX for everyday use. A buckle, a socket wrench, a carabiner—NylonX is the suitable printing material for them all. Its nylon makeup mixed with micro-carbon fibers allows for the same durability as nylon and similar stiffness as carbon fiber, making it the ideal material to use for functional parts. Easily extrude this filament using either the powerful E3D V6 that comes stock with the machine or upgrade to Slice Engineering’s Mosquito—a radical new take on hotend efficiency and easy nozzle changing.
Perfect Precise Prints
The Pulse XE prints with the same amazing laser accuracy as the standard Pulse, but with even smoother results using NylonX. With the right fine-tuned settings, your prints will require no post-processing which leaves a super smooth, clean print that you can distinctly achieve with NylonX.
Everything You Need Pre-Installed
With the Pulse XE 3D Printer, we worry about the correct components and installation process so you don’t have to. Don’t fret about whether or not you bought a compatible nozzle or installed the hotend correctly. Sit back and let the Pulse Pros handle the configuring so you can jump right into printing as soon as your Pulse XE 3D printer arrives.
Designed to Print NylonX
All variations of the Pulse 3D printer are designed to be reliable, then further fine-tuned to satisfy specific printing needs. For the Pulse XE, this amazing FDM machine is designed to specialize in printing engineering-grade filaments like NylonX. With a hotend capable of reaching temperatures of up to 300°C and a hardened steel nozzle designed to handle harsh filaments, the Pulse XE—without a doubt—is made to handle pumping out micro-carbon fiber filled filament with this carefully chosen hotend setup.
The Pulse XE also comes with a bed surface engineered for NylonX. LayerLock Garolite Build Surface, an interwoven glass fiber fabric impregnated with epoxy resin, guarantees better NylonX adhesion to the bed and long-lasting durability for numerous prints. With a garolite surface installed on the Pulse XE’s powerful 24V heated bed, rest easy knowing you’ll struggle less with warping and bed adhesion compared to other bed surfaces.
The Pulse XE 3D Printer is designed to provide you the necessary hotend, nozzle, and heated bed surface to get you started printing NylonX filament right out of the box.
A Tough Hotend for Tough Filament
The carbon fiber in NylonX is very hard and abrasive and it will quickly abrade and ruin brass or other soft metal nozzles. While most 3D printers can print with NylonX, they require anywhere between a nozzle change to completely switching out the hotend in order to handle multiple NylonX print jobs. The Pulse XE, however, is designed to print NylonX right out of the box for years to come.
With a hotend setup designed to meet NylonX’s 250-265°C print temperature requirement and equipped with a hardened steel nozzle that withstands tough, abrasive filament, the Pulse XE is built for you to print NylonX with zero hardware configuration. Rest easy knowing you can start printing NylonX parts with the right sturdy hotend system already installed by our Pulse Pros.
No need to install the right nozzle and hotend on the FDM 3D printer yourself. We’ll do it for you!
Functional Robust Prints With NylonX
Add NylonX filament to the list of strong materials you can print with using the Pulse XE. Made of engineering grade nylon filament blended with chopped carbon fibers, NylonX is the perfect blend of strength and durability. Maximizing its strength to weight ratio, this filament is sturdy, impact resistant, and high in tensile strength while still being light enough to not disrupt functional use. Its high thermal resistance also aids in lack of warping, adding onto NylonX’s trusted reputation for stiffness. Need to print a part that’s both functional and robust? NylonX is the reliable solution for you.
NylonX delivers the strength you need in sturdy, functional end-use 3D printed parts. Easily churn out prints made of this powerful advanced material using the Pulse XE FDM 3D printer.
Sleek Look With Engineering Grade Filament
While standard filaments like PLA can print very smoothly, NylonX prints come out even more precise, giving a much sleeker look that would make you think the print was produced by a factory machine instead of a desktop 3D printer. With the correct settings, the smooth and silky matte-black finish of a NylonX print requires zero post processing meaning no filament waste and no time wasted cleaning.
Distinctive print layers can be indications of sturdy prints, but don’t let NylonX’s smooth finish fool you into thinking it equates to low sturdiness. The strength and durability you get in these NylonX prints come from its chemical makeup of micro-carbon fiber strands. If extremely smooth prints that also happen to be reliably sturdy are your preference, NylonX is perfect for you.
Printing parts as sleek and sturdy as this skateboard truck are only a Pulse XE 3D printer away.
